According to reports, in order to provide consumers with a better shopping experience, eBay is currently testing a new function, that is, displaying on the listing page how long it takes for sellers to reply to customers’ questions. A product manager from eBay’s Buyer Experience team has confirmed this news.
“We understand that many buyers are very concerned about whether sellers can reply to their questions in time, so we decided to launch this new feature. This new feature will encourage sellers to interact with buyers more frequently. ”
As the product manager said, this new function is mainly to meet the needs of consumers, and from eBay’s point of view, it also hopes to promote communication between buyers and sellers through this new function, thus helping to increase the sales of sellers on the platform and increase the trust of buyers in the platform to achieve a win-win situation.
It should be noted that at present, this new function is only open to some buyers who participate in the test. During the test, these buyers can see one of seven different signals on the product list page, including reply within 1 hour, reply within 3 hours, reply within 6 hours, reply within 12 hours, reply within 24 hours, reply within 48 hours and reply time without display.
These seven signals can be regarded as “seller’s response time”, and how to determine the specific standard of response time? At present, it mainly depends on the seller’s response rate in the past 12 months. If the seller does not receive any questions during this period or the response rate is lower than 60%, the response time will not be displayed. If the seller’s reply rate is higher than 60%, the platform will select the signal showing “How many hours to reply” according to the calculation results.
